I just cannot figure out what I am doing wrong, I went to that house today and I detected slow I was there from 10am to 2:30pm, and it is a small yard. I found 3 more wheats,
(27 total now, 13 of them THIS WEEK) 1950, 1942, 1919, they were about 4-5 inches down. I do not understand where the silver is all at?? I asked him again today if anyone has detected that house, and he said he has lived there for 38 years now and no one has detected the yard.

any clues on what the token thing is with the eagle? there are no marks on it anywhere, back is smooth, and what about the piece with the flower, any ideas??

The "thing with the eagle" looks like a Civil War Union Army item. I wouldn't know if it's orig or a repo. Weird that it would be smooth on the back - I've only seen buckles and buttons. The loop on the back may have broken off - any attachment marks? Someone on the relic page would be able to add further details. MB

Maybe no one DROPPED any silver.
Your having a better day than I had. I detected a site I told you
about and found rail road spikes and some metal objects/junk.
Even a couple old old old time nails they used in the OLDEN days
even before I was born! But no coins.
BTW Brace yourself! We're both getting some bad
weather coming in over Indiana/Ohio this weekend.

Looks like you had a good day if you ask me.

RR, I agree it was a GOOD day, whenever I find wheaties I am HAPPY, just cannot figure out how I hunted 3 different OLD houses this week, found 13 wheaties and no silver at all, just strikes me as odd.

Well, its only 4pm our time so maybe you can get somemore
hunting in today. Me...I have to go to my night job!!!!! Dang!

nope I am helping out at church we are in the middle of a remodeling project and I have to be there at 5:30 to lend a hand

Man thats great!!!! I have no idea why there isn't any silver there!!! But silver is a whole lot more noticable on the ground, maybe somebody picked it up once it was dropped, or it was a couple that didnt have any kids that lived there??? or top soil was put down over the years and burried the heavier coins deeper... Keep up the great work, the silver coins will come!!!

When you detect old houses wheat's become common. It is funny, when I find a wheat, it is just another coin. When I don't find a wheat, I am wondering what is wrong with this place. Wheat's are a sign that there may be something else good in the area. I have gotten 11 wheat's this week and no silver, which is common. One house I got 16 wheat's and no silver. I got 223 wheat's last year and have over 60 this year, but the silver count is low. I get excited over finding Indian Head cents and of course the other coins of that era. So far this year I have two I.H cents.

I believe the floral repousse piece is half of an old belt buckle. Prolly Eduardian era (early 1900's). Very beautiful! Did you see any markings on it? Sometimes those are sterling, but sometimes just plated.

Great finds!
