this 140 + yr old park is
OFF LIMITS to :twodetecting:

My 4 legged huntin buddy has indicated
MANY times good spots to :detecting:
near those big ol oak trees...

I know that last summer ( 2010 ) a guy
had his machine taken away when he was
spotted by local police..
The park is less than 10 min from my house
I took letters from churches schools and other
entitys that let me :detecting: on thier property
but its a no go here..

every time i run the dog there those old okas
SCREAM at me to search..

Myabe someday someone will see the light

Its hot and dry so i wouldnt be there today even if
i had permission ...

Fall is a comnin with RAIN i hope 9 but not too much)

Pa just west of Pittsburgh

They just say we dont allow it

I know the area was deeded to the town
when a lady died a long time ago ..
i doubt
they were concerned about :detecting:
100 + yrs ago..

See if the park rules says so? Usually found on the cities web site under parks and rec. The rule that will get you is the one that says you cannot disturb the ground or something like that.

Well of course. All of those people in your pictures who are picnicing and playing frisbee might get offended. What a bunch of BS ..

That is a good looking park. Very odd they just don't allow detecting.

There is one small park in my area that is off limits. In this county you buy a permit for $10 and they give you a list of all the parks that you can detect. All but that one are open.

I always thought,,,one of the big wigs buried a gun or something in there!!! So he made it off limits. lol But a few years later I found out there is electrical wires running through the park in different places. I can understand why they would not want anyone digging in there.

I drove through PA last year. I was amazed at all the grape vine fields. Are they detectable?? I could not tell if the ground around them(between rows) is clear enough to detect. If it is,,there is a endless amount of land for you. Whats your thoughts on that??

Here in MI once a field is planted,,corn ,,beans or whatever,,it is not detectable.

the grape fields are on private property so its a
matter of convincing the owner that Im not going
to ruin his land .. Thats something im working on

The park is part of a " Wealthy " part of the area
and the folks are a bit ..?????ODD shall we say ..

Ill just keep running the dog there and hope
someone has common sense and changes things
I for sure dont want to end up like the guy i mentioned
thta lost his Tector...
