What a let down..................

Well, sorry to say we didn't even get to dig one plug at this place. It probably has some possibilities, but the weeds were so high that you couldn't swing a coil. The guy who owns the property is building a new house there and he said he would grade the area around the old house so we could hunt, but he didn't keep his end of the bargin. The only place that was cleared was where his new house is!! Maybe another time if he can knock down the weeds for us. Sorry fellows. I was hoping to post some nice finds, but all I have is a picture of an old run down farm house. Thanks for looking and handing out the kleenex..................... HH.

The Owner told you that he was going to have an area cleared for you and the others to detect and he didn't hold up to his end of the deal. Doesn't he realize that you and others just waisted time and gas on venturing out to his place for nothing? I take it that this fellow isn't very energetic since it would only have taken a short time to remove them weeds and to keep his side of the deal. Sorry to see this happen to you and the others. Guess you will have to either wait until he does knock down the weeds or find somewhere else to hunt. Better luck next time buddy! Good Luck and HH on your next hunt.

Yeah James, it sucks when you count on someone to do something and then it doesn't get done. We ended up going to a highschool close by, but only got a little clad. Hit another old school at the little town my dad was born in a few miles down the road, but same thing there. Just clad. HH buddy.

Thanks Richard. I love old places like that and I really enjoy looking at old pictures. Makes you sick to see then and now pictures and even sicker wondering how many old coins and etc get barried under all the cement and blacktop.

I have a old logging camp and I mean old and that is what I use. If it is really growed up and when the snakes are out I bring my 4X6' board drag it to the area I am going to hunt throw it down walk on it and detect right thru the board. Bring a shovel so you can cut the snakes head off if you see one if it is a poisonous one. No Problem :D: :D: HH Jerry aka Tinfoil

I thought about trying the old plywood deal. If the owner won't scrape the area around that old house like he said he would then I just might go back there with plywood in hand. Don't have to worry about any poisnous snakes. Garter snakes are all we have to worry about around here. HH.
