Yes,that's right.I been going through hurricane's here for 51yr.never took a penny from the Government.Just for the hell of it we tryed to get help from FEMA. All the tax's I been paying for years,Got my answer ** You Do Not Qualify **.Oh,O.K. the hurricane didn't hit me.But I see all these people (that don't work and don't want to work) getting all kind of money and stuff from FEMA and tax payer can't get any help. Some time I just want to sell every thing I got and do like them,Let you guys (Tax payer) take care of me.

O.K. I guess I'm just blowing off a little steam.Sorry

Ya'll have fun now

I understand your pain and frustration, Elson. Our neighborhood got flooded last year in June. I suffered over $20,000 damage which insurance didn't cover because it was a flood and we couldn't have Flood Insurance since we didn't live in a flood plain. The City claimed no responsibility, although the roads on the new multi-million dollar housing addition and the new house yards they had allowed to be built on the hill behind us, without adequate inspections, dumped all the storm water right down on top of us. FEMA came out but since the water hadn't gotten into my house, I got only $200 for septic tank damage. We spent every night for two weeks trenching mine and eight of my neighbors yards to drain water and protect the houses. They told us to apply for a loan from the Small Business Administration. The SBMA wanted as much interest as the local banks, plus they wanted to secure in with a mortgage on the house.:rage:

We had FEMA drop by after Charlie. Waste of time! They couldn't help us. Code for you make too much and actually pay taxes. We ate thousands in our "hurricane deductible" and took us a year to find a contractor. After we settled our claim, our garage door broke in half from the storm. That cost us another thousand. Then they raised our insurance premium and the State tacked on a surcharge for the state funded insurance pool (rich folks beach house rebuild act.) Man I miss Florida, Not!!!:veryangry::thumbdown:
