What a Hunt!

We were able to do a little bit of detecting. With the humidity and my breathing, I couldn't last long per hunt. My first outing I managed to find two silver dimes, 1935 & 1956, 3 wheats and a bit of clad.

2nd. hunt I came home with a couple of Indian cents, 1904 and a 1869 and 3 wheats. YAHOO!!!

3rd time out, I came home with a 1944 Merc. and 4 wheats.

The 1869 is in 3 in One oil soaking in the tiny mug. [attachment 270671 3InOneOil.JPG] The shiny picture of the Indian is still soaked in oil. Sorry about that. Larry graded it as a VF20 with a full LIBERTY. :wiggle: Didn't dig too much junk and only found one clad nickel. We'll be back to that place for sure. Not too shabby for only hunting about 2 hours total.

What a great day. HH, Nancy

Hi Nancy, That was fantastic, How do you and Larry find those good places to hunt? wish i could find a place like that. I hunt with the MXT also, i have frond some very nice things, but you seam to find them always. Good Luck when you go back to that place. Dean

Thanks for the compliment. I found this online and found out who owned it and called. Told her we would be VERY careful. She didn't seem to have any problems and wished us luck. Can't wait till the humidity and heat go down so we can go back and play in the dirt. I love my MXT and it serves me well.
HH, Nancy

No escaping you with the MXT Nance!! Very nice results for a relatively short hunt. I've got to start knocking on doors too. Congrats !!

Thanks Hank, You'll be surprised who all will let you hunt their lawns. Specially when they're outside and you can start up a conversation.

Have I told you how much I love my Whites MXT? :wiggle: HH, Nancy

Thanks Gary, I'm still in disbelief at times. It hasn't quite sunk in. We went back to the place the next day and I found 7 more wheats which makes a total of 29 wheats so far with Larry's also. We'll be back again very soon. HH, Nancy

Nancy soaked the IH in oil and after a final clean up, it turned out pretty darned good. The "69" is a key date and with the full LIBERTY and beautiful back, it graded a VF-20 with a Redbook price of $335. She won the most valuable coin category last night at our club meeting, congratulations honey :cheekkiss:

 Thanks for the kind words.

That is a very beautiful coin! That would fund about any coil you want with coin to spare! Or a nice addition to your vacation funds.

I like your way of thinking Aaron. Probably just keep it and someday my daughter can mess with it. HH, Nancy

Congratulations Nancy!

Getting out even for short hunts is WAY better than being stuck indoors. Nice bunch of finds you two are making. Love that 1869 IH.

Bob

Thanks Bob. It really took me by surprise when I saw it was in the 60's. :surprised: And getting out little by little paid off this time around. Honestly, it pays off even if I don't find anything worth posting. Bottom line, it's great to get out. HH, Nancy

Not too shabby .... are you kidding me !!!!! Wow. Smoke must have been coming out of that MXTs circuit board. Awesome finds Nancy. Congratulations on that 69 IH. Was it down deep?

CCH

Thanks EJ, The Indian was only about 4" deep. About a foot from that one was the other Indian. The old place has given up many nice coins and items. We've been very fortunate to be able to detect it. HH, Nancy

Thank you Whitetail, I guess I'm still in disbelief and it really hasn't sunk in yet. I too love to see those Indian cents come out of the ground. They're a very pretty coin. Unlike today's currency. The old coins are so detailed in the simplest way. Thanks again and HH, Nancy
