:garrett:Saturday was another Great Day for being outside in the Fresh Mountain Air of Western North Carolina. Bubblehead and I went around to a few local schools. This is what I found in one of the school yards. 1936 2 Francs. I had to dig down a few inches and thought I had another Penny. But to my surprise it wasn't.:surprised: It's what you don't expect to find is what make this fun:thumbup: Thanks Bubblehead :whites: for all the fun we have.

That is a real nice find. Is the school that old or do you think some kid got a hold of it and mixed it with his change?

TH and I came to the conclusion that some kid probably swiped it from the ol' man's collection and brought it to show his friends then lost it coming off the slide. School isn't that old or if it is, it's had a pretty good face lift. What TH didn't tell you is that a few minutes before that, we were at another elementary school about a mile a way and I found a 1990 German 5 Phennig piece. Was beginning to wonder if we would find any American money..... I expect to find some pesos next weekend............
I expect to find some pesos next weekend............
Here in Cali Pesos are a pretty regular find in the parks....go figure with the size of our Hispanic population. Not that it's a bad thing, I have about a half page of foreign coins, my favorites being Canadian:rofl:

went to a school today- short hunt-wood bark chips 11 coins--2 quarters 2 dimes 1 nick 5 pennys and 1 coin about the size of a quarter 1975 on the front is looks like a indian with a head set on and it says CINCUENTIA CENTAVOS M. 1975--On the back looks like a Eagle with a snake in its claw and beek and says-- ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS,-I think is maby 50 cents- you never know what the 250 will find

Nice find. I've got quite a collection of foreign coins. Since Portland is an inland seaport we get people from all over the world and I've got coins from all over the world.
