What a difference 2 days make.:surprised: Precious hunt with Dad and Sheryl.

Unbelievable that on Monday the temps were in the low 70's and I was hunting with pops and my girlfriend Sheryl.:clapping:

Then I get up this morning...just 2 days later... it is 34 degrees and my windshield is coverd with ice.

Dad said he would hunt one more time while the weather was nice on Monday so thats exactly what we did.

Both he and Sheryl were working EX2's...thanks to the one loaner unit from my good friend Heavy D. I just have one EX2.

Sheryl was determined to dig something. She doesn't care whether it is old or not...but any coin puts a smile on her face.

She pays pretty close attention to the screen and hopes to hear "the high flute music" as she calls it.:bouncy:

She ended up digging 2 memorials and even got a wheatie.

Dad had a good time too...and he even smiled once.

The first thing he dug was a little chunk of molten metal at about 7" and he mentioned something about wrapping the EX2 around the tree about 20 feet away.:detecting:

I told him to go ahead and do it:cool:...because it was Darrell's EX2...and not mine.:bouncy: Sheryl was using mine.

As the sun began to set though...he finally popped out a shiny little sweetie and I do believe I saw him smile when I snapped the pic of him.:)

It don't get much better than this fellers'...70 degrees in late November...my lady came along on a hunt...and Pops found some shiny stuff before the nasty weather hit us today....the day before Thanksgiving.

I found a few things too but this post is about my pops and lady sharing the hunt with me.

This hobby is not...and never will be about what ends up in my pouch. It is about the joy and peace it brings me...and the smiles it puts on the faces of the people I hunt with.

Just take another look at the smile on Sheryl's face...and Dad's face. Those smiles are worth more than anything that could ever end up in my pouch.:please:

The only thing I'd like to show is the Medal I found. I'm not sure what it is...but it looks like it might have been some type of award...and could have possibly had a ribbon attached to it to be worn around the neck??

Anyway thank you all for viewing.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving...and enjoy the precious time you have with your family.

Nice to get in one last hunt. Mine was last week. We are snowed in and froze to boot. Brrrrrr

I've seen that medal before. I think it's a watch fob and is called the Great Seal (of the US). I've seen some with state seals as well. I like what is written on the back "Genuine Bronze".

Nice hunt with good company. Something to be thankful for when you sit down to turkey tomorrow.

HH & Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Nice post buddy. I am glad to see your dad is doing good. Looks like your girl is having fun too. Have a good thanksgiving. Later...Kennon.

Glad you guys got to get out together Bryce, and you are right about what the important part is. As for the great seal piece it is a watch fob. I had the exact same one when I was a kid. It would have had a little leather strap attached to the top.

I smiled also Bryce, when I saw that pic of your dad and that shiner that he dug..... looks like your lady had fun too! Wish I could get mine interested in 'dirtfishin! That fob you found is cool, and I think that's the third one I've seen today, it's crazy!

Looks like a great time was had by all - it would take a minor miracle for me to get my wife out detecting with me  Glad your Dad scored with some silver! The item you found is a watch fob and I think someone just posted the same one here or on the "other" T forum :clapping: Fobs are great finds! Best, Erik

Thanks for the post Bryce. Congratulations on a great (in terms of quality time) hunt!!! Thanks for the story and the pictures.

shes a lookin good too. Friends, enjoy your folks while they are still up and at em. My 88 yr old mom just went into a nursing home recently.:stretcher:

Glad that you got out with your dad and Sheryl and it looks like they both had a good time. What was the coin that your dad got? I wonder if that thing you got might be a watch fob? Have a great Thanksgiving and HH if you get out again.

Eddie

I couldn't agree with you more and what you're saying is feel good stuff. What's the word on the ribbon above the eagle to the right?

Great times Bryce! Your pop is looking great and so is your lady! I know what you mean about that weather...it was fantastic while it lasted.
Thanks for the great post!:clapping:

or possibly late 30's. Nice to see your dad pulling silver again buddy. Sheryl found more than I did on my last hunt. I matched her 2 memorial cents:biggrin: but didn't get a wheatie.

Pops and my lady say thank you too:clapping:

Seriously...all you fellers' who always wish my dad well...I appreciate it...and I do not forget stuff like that. THANK YOU:angel:

Eddie....it was a dime dad popped out my friend.
