What a day for a hunt!:twodetecting:

Chris and I hit a spot early and it was just gorgeous. Temp. bordering on 70 and low humidity.

For the first half hour or so good targets were scarce. I finally got a sweet sounding 82-83 reading and un-earthed a 39 Mercury dime. A little bit later that was followed by the 43P war nickel. Then, I got a nice sounding whisper bouncing around the 82 to 84 mark and from 6" plucked a nice 1903 Barber dime. Near the end of our hunt I got a 80 reading and from 4" got the 925 U S Jaycees pin followed by the old broach, which still has the pin on the back. I also managed 3 wheat cents, 24, 35 and 58 and a couple of curios and clad. All in all, a great way to spend half a day. Pro Zero running max sen and 11dd coil. HH jim tn

Some nice ones Jim in that outing.

Nice hunt for sure!! Congrats on the silver!!

Wow, looks like a great hunt to me! Congrats on some sweet finds.
Y'all been getting much rain? That second hole pic looks like some really dry dirt.

dgruff, some places in the area got some night before last. Others, just a trace. Over all, not horrible digging yet, but high spots are drying out. Will have to get selective on spots shortly if we don't get some over the weekend. Thanks all, and everyone dig good. HH jim tn

Jim, can you get us a group shot of your silver finds for the year? I know you started hitting some big stuff right off the bat in Jan, cant remember it all though!...
Mud

Mud, if I decide to pass along a group shot, I'll take my camera along to the bank next time I go. Most of its there in a safety deposit box. I don't keep silver and gold around the house.

I have found a few big silvers this year, a silver dollar and 4 halves, but you may be thinking about a couple years back when I hit 3 walkers in one hole on Jan 1st and followed up a few days later with a silver dollar and another walker the same outing. HH jim tn

Yeah..thats what I thought!..I do remember that, my how times flies?...seems like only yesterday...sheesh! Its hard to keep track of it all...your finds are very inspiring to us none the less...always give us hope!:clapping:

3 Walkers in the same hole???? I'd poop myself! Seriously! How long have you been detecting, Jim? I sure wish we were neighbors. You'd get sick of seeing me, always trying to tag along and asking questions all day, lol. I'd just like to figure out how you pick a spot, and why.
Regarding the weather, I hear there's a cold front coming in the next couple of days, and it's supposedly bringing some cooler weather and a little bit of rain. Our lake is still down 6 feet. That don't sound like a lot, but it's a BIG old lake.

Beautiful old coins and goodies, Jim. You sure are consistent at digging that shiny metal - I'll be watching for your line of MD training videos! Love those pins.

dgruff, I started in 1972, but for a good chunk of years I was a weekend warrior with raising a family and numerous job transfers. I retired in 2006 and began a daily routine of getting out early almost every day swinging for 3-5 hours. That still gives me a good chunk of the day for the honey do things. It would be a real thrill to get together with you and some others on this forum. I've tried to get Elton to meet me half way, but just can't get him out of Ohio. LOL

Hey William, haven't seen one of those multi hunt posts of yours for a while. Always enjoy seeing your finds from your area. HH jim tn

Excellent finds, Jim. Surre makes me want to go get my At/Pro and hit the woods. The summer heat and shoulder pain brings me back to sanity, tho. I can count on one hand the silver coins I've found in the last few years, but I've been lucky at the river with silver rings and a little gold. If I could get up and go early in the morning like I want to, I could go 2-3 times a week. Time I get Mama up and make sure she takes her medicine at 5 & 6 and then cook her breakfast and read the bible to her, it's nearly 8 am. Then other things need my attention. Signs of an unorganized mind, I guess. Enjoy the posts of your finds and it makes me keep on planning my trips.
Thanks for sharing.

Well if you're ever in north Texas, or southern Oklahoma, holler at me. I've got some places I'd like to take you to. I bet you could scare some old silver out of the ground, lol.

I used to travel through those parts back in my working days. I 30 or 35 into Dallas, depending on whether I hit Oklahoma City on the way to Dallas and Houston. In fact, got two silver dimes one evening in a Nacogdoches park. Yeah, I could hunt with you on my way to hook up with William. HH jim tn

dgruff: Jim is like a snake charmer; he can coax the shiny stuff out of any patch of dirt!
Jim: Comin' right up!
