What a Bust!!!

No...Not that kinda Bust...lol...I know I made ya look...
I went to a public Arboretum yesterday to hunt what I thought was going to be a goldmine...Boy was I wrong..I have never seen so many pull tabs, screw caps, and shredded Aluminum cans in my life!!! I switched to me 4" coil, and still I found only pull tabs, screw caps, and Aluminum...This park is large...probably about 3 acres at least. I did find what could be a cache though...It was located under a branch of a tree that was growing horizontal, then back vertical again...I also found about 3 square nail about 2 inches long on top of the area. The object measures about 2 feet by 1 foot, and registers a solid 8" all the way around it's perimeter...It hits as Iron, but I got a few copper penny hits too...I hate to dig this large of a hole though...I might have to night hawk this one...Any suggestions???
BTW...All I found was 2 dimes, a nickel, 3 coppers, and a Tootsie Toy boat trailer...has a 2 on it, that is the only marking other than the Tootsie Toy trademark. It is a John Deere Yellow color. It is in excellent condition, and was under the same tree as my suspected cache on the surface. Have no idea how old it might be??? I know Tootsie Toy is an OLD company...

looks like youll have to make that night run! :ninja: i would die laughing if you dug up a water heater or something  but then on the other hand youd be the man if you pulled up a box with all kinds of goodies:surprised: :please:

Well I reckon a mans got to do what a mans got to do BH. It might be nothing but it could be the early retirement cache! Go hard and best of luck. Live your dreams! regards Robert.:detecting:

well....ya know bh landstar, its like nugget says. you never know what its gonna be til you dig it up. let us know how it goes and if you will need a full time chauffeur! haha, hh,

If you actually have a Grey Ghost, Your hired!!!...lol. It has begun to snowing today again...back down to 25 degrees F in the sun...This is gonna have to wait till another thaw...I am gonna have to get me a square bottom spade and modify it for cache diggin...:)...I guess it is worth my time, but I too will be laughing (and Crying) if it turns out to be a piece of sheet metal, or an old radiator or something...lol
BTW, I see these Tootsie Toy trailers are going for as much as $20 on eBay without the load or the truck that pulls em...Just the trailer...This one still has wheels, and the axel (which is iron) is still intact and the wheels still turn...Paint is slightly worn in spots. Looks like junior took Daddies collection out to play... :)

hey bh landstar, that was a cool find, one of my favorite things to find are kids toys from the past. i have a small collection of them i wouldnt take anything for. tootsietoy was a quality built solid metal toy series real popular for many years from about the late 1920s to early 1970s. i dont know what happened to them as a company, its kinda funny how i will find toys and pennies in the backyards of houses and find the stuff adults lost in the front yards. there is often a definite "line". i recently found some old 60s matchboxes in a guys yard and i thought he was going to cry, i asked him why, and he told me he and his brother used to play with them in that area below the kitchen window where their mother could watch them. he was sure they had deteriorated by now and didnt expect me to find them. i offered them to him, but he refused, saying,"ive got my memories with them, and now you will too". so i took them home, cleaned and painted them. it was all just too cool.

Well, the trailer looks like the one in this photo, minus the truck.
