WHAT A BUNCH OF JUNK!!!!!

Hey, you have an AT coming right? You can leave all that stuff for the people with other machines!!

:usaflag:I can't even count the days I've had like that..

See those pull tabs? Those represent the gold rings that are supposed to show up in the pull tab range. Gotta dig em or ya never know with the 250. I've got scores of gold rings that look just like pull tabs. But don't feel bad Katz, we've all been there. Gets frustrating I know. What's that old saying I used to hear around the poker table? Gotta put it in if ya wanna take it out? Sumpin like that.

:usaflag:Digging all that crap gets real old. I'm thinking that the AT Pro is going to have to exceed my expectations, otherwise my 2nd detector is going to be a White's or a Minelab.

A Whites isn't going to be any better; I have a Whites MXT and while it zeros in on targets the Ace misses
your still going to dig junk. I can't speak for MineLab but I imagine most detectors are going to give you
it's best "guess," which means its guessing and that means junk.

Agree with your comment:

"A Whites isn't going to be any better"

I have a DFX spec E and it finds pull tabs and foil like raindrops in a thunderstorm. Looking at the picture of finds for this guy, I would not call it a bad day. I only go out for a few hours at a time. My normal take is 35 cents of clad, a penny, 9 to 15 pull tabs and 4 pieces of foil. While I am working hard to pass up most targets I think will be junk and trying to learn the DFX. I would hate to miss that gold.

Good luck to us all

You dig it all!

I am trying so hard to live by that code. It is daunting when you are faced with a literal iron minefield.

Could be worse. I know that sucks but look at what you have there, On my Xterra 705 a lot of that crap sounds like coins to me (or close enough to dig), I do a bit better with the SE. I have the intention (at this point) to get the AT Pro, but I have no fantasy that the machine will eliminate trash. That just can not happen , yet. There are still just to many targets that sound like coins. I do anticipate this machine will very likely eliminate alot of iron. I will dig pull taps for the Gold and there are just to many bits of Al siding and can slaw that sound like dimes and Zn plated washers that sound like Quarters. Crud lets face it there is just a lot of not coins that sound like coins. I do find that sometimes I leave to many iffy targets in the ground and then my good coin count goes down. I am getting better but I have to dig some junk and I am pretty sure that the best guys here dig plenty of trash.

I dug a War Nickel today. It IDed as pull tab but sounded... Hmmm cleaner I guess, so I dug. What is missing in the pic is ALL the trash.

My wife works at a dialysis center so the pull tabs count as treasure for me. She has a patient that gets free time on a machine for pull tabs. Might check into that and help your fellow man at the same time you are enjoying your hobby.

I agree with mcdave that minelab e-trac is pretty awesome feature. But like they say it does"nt how good it is your still going to dig some junk!
