What a Beautiful Day!!:twodetecting:

Larry and I went detecting some older places that we've hit pretty hard in the past and it's been a few years since. I wanted to give it a try and of course he didn't complain. He found a couple wheats and a silver Merc.

Targets were few and far between. I didn't care because I was enjoying the mild temps with low humidity along with a nice breeze. What more could I ask for.

Here's what I came home with. The little thimble rang up silver but I'm sure it's not. Then my second item is a Captain Midnight Flight Patrol from Skelly Gas/Oil. I was pretty happy when I dug this one. I'll take this over any clad cents any day! Possibly over a silver dime! Thanks for looking and HH, Nancy

Captain Midnight Flight Patrol

I love that kind of stuff. Excellent find Nancy.

Did you get a brush on the thimble to see if silver is hiding under there?

Thanks Rich!

I was pretty happy when I pulled that Captain Midnight out of the ground. At first I thought it was a butterfly but then I could see there was some writing on it.

I took a soft toothbrush to the thimble and I'm pretty sure it's not silver plus it doesn't have the weight to it that a silver thimble would have. Still a pretty cool find that was about 6" deep.
