Explorer can't tell a dime from a new penny..Just left an old area and was traveling thru a new park and saw an edge was really cut short. Every second hit turned out to be a penny that registered as a dime. Always take my old Pantera and use the notch to just dig dimes and above in local parks while catching the gold ring area also that has audio variances so I wasn't aware of this..At the edge of the field got a deep dime signal and about 10 inches deep came out a 47 Silver Roosie dime so I guess I will keep it..Also got an old pin over a foot from the old area so now we know why we has several detectors.Just kidding guys and gals Explorer just seems to grab the silver as heck hundreds of detectors have been over this spot over the years and missed that dime..So buy a bigger digger and hit the old places or just dig the deepies if after silver.

But lately I've been digging everything high except shallow zincs so it doesn't mean much to me. But still am about 80-90% on guessing a silver when I come across one <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

Anyone that has learned and used an Explorer knows its abilities. If I rubbed you wrong my apologizes.
One wonders how many detectors went over that silver dime?????..In addendum this 66 yr old senior citizen who is not a weight lifter swung for 5 hours with no arm or back problems, but my feet sure hurt..Careful setting of the length of the front pole along with the arm rest to fit your body along with gliding the coil over the grass really helps..Gosh I wish I hunted in older areas and will have to settle for mercs and silver roosies with an occasional barber. My hunting partner burnt out and long trips without a partner is not feasible to travel to real old areas..
