wet suit--how should it fit

ok,i bought a wet suit at a yard sale today for 20.00 .... i am 5ft 10in.and weigh about 185lb...tried it on at home and went into my pool with it on...i have no experience with a wet suit and only bought it for possible fall lake hunting and emergency pool repair.....i intend to keep my head above water also..... anyway it is made by -fathom-in st lucia says XL 7 on the label but getting it on and off is a major chore as it is very tight...i mean almost hard to breathe tight....it did feel alittle better once i got into the pool with it.....i was in about 10 minutes and my under clothes barely got wet...... i take 34x34 pants and large shirt size and am average build..... is it normal for the suit to feel so tight....it took me about 20 minutes to get it off-no exaggeration...you comments and imput please..... thanks,dave...

tight id good when the wetsuit get wet it should get a bit better ...go to the brands web site and look for the size chart how thick is the wet suit ?

It' too tight. A wetsuit should be SNUG, form-fitting, but should never be as tight as you describe. I know the suit you are talking about, and it is fairly old. Neoprene tends to get stiff and shrink with age, which is probably why an XL suit is fitting so tight.

If you mean underclothes is just a bathing suit, yes its too tight. Good price but wrong size.

I knew my wetsuit shrunk every winter!!

LOL ... most of my cloths shrink every winter too!
