Wet and rainy here so I waterproofed my Ace 250 today

Looks good, what materials did you use , i see an otter box and some pigtails, and how much $ did it cost to waterproof it ? Kevin

Pull the batts out and sink it in the bath tub for as few hours. If water gets in it wont hurt it. Just pull it apart let it dry a day or two in a warm spot then fix the leak and try it again. Iv been an electronics tech for years now and cant tell you how many electronic boards i have cleaned with soap and water then rinsed off with denatured alcohol.

Well i say all that without knowing if you have tested for leaks but figured it wouldn't hurt to give some advice in case you hadn't tested it yet.

I made underwater camera and strobe housings out of lexan many years ago. The toughest obstacle for me was how to make the through the wall wire or control points waterproof. I found shafts that would go through an o-ring device that allowed changing controls from the outside, but always had a dickens of a time getting the wires through the case (like the coil wire) without a leak. Is there some new technology or connector that makes that easier now. Used to be theyd put some rubber around the cable and vulcanize it someway so it wouldn't leak.

waterproof cable glands heyco.com
cable clams blue sea products
split cable clams

Do a search of each one.

I think you set it for a particular type of hunting style, then forget it...The trigger is most likely like a White's machine...toggles VCO Pinpoint and All-Metals mode...Nice job!!!

HH,

Nice mod!
Maybe a sealed multi-position switch and a sealed push button would give you all the controls externally.
Reed switches could work too.
