That's been something I've done for a long time...taking off the coil cover a couple of times per hunt, rinse it out, put it back on. It DOES affect the machine and makes it unstable. No more of that for me though...a few weeks ago I took some RTV black and made a bead all the way around the inside surface of the cover and put it on, then neatly sealed the seam with same. You can't tell it's RTV'd, it's watertight, and the machine has been smooth as silk ever since. If I ever need to get it off I believe I can. If not, I'll carefully cut it off and get another. Don't see it happening though...it's on there very good.
