wes will not have to walk the blank tonight - i scanned him over good and

I felt like I had walked the plank after I returned from hunting the bay. It was cold and windy on the bay today and I was out detecting from 4:30pm until 7:30pm. I was wearing some waders with two layers of coats, so I managed to keep warm. I stayed down on the beach until the tide started coming in. I am glad yesterday did not have a very high tide because I learned that between the place I was detecting and my vehicle, was a large section of the beach that is completely submerged at high tide and fills the beach cut with water. When I started heading back in, I did my usual detecting of the beach until I found the entire beach covered by water and waves knee to thigh deep. I had waves from the bay on my left washing over the beach and hitting the bulkheads rising over the beach on my right. There were occasional stairways leading into homes, but I didn't want to trespass on someones property unless I really needed to. I didn't want to get trapped out on the beach, so I lifted up my detector and scoop and quickly worked my way through the waves until I hit dry beach and returned to my vehicle. I'm glad I didn't go out to this beach on a day with 5' tides and get caught in the rising tides.

I have found some half aluminum cans at times, but I never had room for them in my bag, so I never carried them home. I found a few this weekend, but I dumped them early to give myself some room.
