..got in around 6:30, but I'm not real comfortable being away from the hospital. His blood levels remained constant all day which is a great sign but I fear he may start bleeding again.

Thank you very, very much for your prayers...the situation was critical but Brian responded well. He complained of being light headed and weak when I put him to bed and that scares me some too.

I probably won't get much sleep tonight.

Thanks again,

I can only imagine how you feel...besides exhausted...and can understand the feeling of being away from immediate help if needed. Will pray for more peaceful rest for you all - you all have been through alot for a long long time.

Brian can say he did something that I never did (even with 11 years in the Air Force and being in Vietnam) - I never got a ride in a helicopter. (Not that I would care to ride in a medical helicopter).

So to Brian here is a  Cooooool!

God bless you all and Lord willing you will get peaceful rest and so will every one else at home.

Thanks Pete! We actually had a great night and Brian didn't bleed a drop. He said he slept better than ever, waking up only twice when his monitor went off.

He loved the helicopter ride. He was able to sit up and look out the window. He had a headset on because of the noise and he said the crew would talk to him but he had a hard time understanding what they said.

if you could hear the crew over the noise of the helicopter. Those 'copters can get very noisy...which explains why trying to sneak up on the enemy in Vietnam with helicopters was a bad choice since they knew the helicopters were coming from miles away.

Whenever Sherry and or I hear of see a medical helicopter we pray for all on board...the injured person who is serious enough to need the helicopter to get them to a hospital fast and to the crew flying it and the medical team keeping the person stablized. One never knows who is on board or the circumstances but we know they need God's help to stay alive and if they don't know the Lord we pray they will if He deems their time will be up soon.

Glad you got to ride in a helicopter Brian. Congrats on a 'first' and hopefully, God willing, the last medical helicopter ride you will ever need. (All the rest of your helicopter rides hopefully will be ones you take from a local airport giving rides to the public. God bless you Brian, Doug, Carol and the rest of the family as well.
