Went to the sawbones today and had my staples removed - OUCH! Some were under scabs - TRIPLE OUCH!

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a 6 pound tumor removed 2 years ago from my rib area. The doc gave me pain medicine but
I didn't take it after 2 days as the pain went away.
The first time I went to get the first 3 or 4 staples out, man that smarted. So I would take
a pain pill before I had any more staples removed and it just felt like he was pulling on my skin.

Heck....I could have sent you a staple removal for nothing and you could have pulled them out yourself or gotten a budddy to do it. I have removed literally thousands of those staples. Some of them do have a "BITE" to them when they come out. That's a good sign getting those suckers out! You are getting closer to a HUNT soon. :)

Hope you made sure he threw them out properly and not out in a field where you would surely find and have to see them again someday. sounds like you are coming along quick!

Best,
Chris

I had a 2.2 Kg tumor and one of my kidneys removed in 1999 when I was 34. I now have a scar on my belly that looks like a map of the NY Central RR. It was over 100 staples and I had to drive myself 90 miles to have them removed and then back home. I started liking the pain medicine a little too much. Percodan. They cut me off after two weeks at home. When I was in the hospital I was getting it in a shot form (Percocet?) and I was setting an alarm clock to get up so I could have a shot every 4 hours. I hated the Morphine after surgery. It gave me a hangover. Bad memories. Glad to be alive most days.

Hadn't really thought about it in a while until I read your post.

Good health!

Chris

glad to hear you are getting better. most of my incisions are almost completely healed from my surgery. luckily they used that medical glue stuff on me instead of stitches or staples.

Yeah I should have popped a couple but didn't know they were going to take them out until after I got there. Oh well, it's just a memory now. Now I've got to gain back all the weight I lost. I look like a scarecrow.

Yeah I had a morphine pump that I about wore out. I have a high resistance to morphine so it takes a gallon to effect me. They also gave me percocet and some other kind of dope. I have a high resistance to all of it and hate all of it.
