I went to a park about 25 miles from me that used to hold G.A.R meetings around the turn of the century. The place has provided some nice finds over the years and today it still gave me a few keepers.

The best find I think is this very cool old button. Can you button guys help me I.D this one please? Brandy, Brian? I know its an older one because of the long neck on the eagle. I didn't wanna clean her up any more til I know what I have. Here is the front and back.

And the two Indian heads plus a V nickel to boot. Pretty fun time out again.

A post Revolution, New York Militia 1 piece with border and rope edging. R Value-3. There are a number of different backmarks for this button. Real nice find, Jim.:clapping:

...does this mean it was civil war era or just before? Do you know? What does R-3 mean? I suppose its a rarity rating but is that number mean real rare or common? Thanks Dave for the info. Jim

has a vague rarety system. R-3 seems to be fairly common. Perhaps one of the other guys can be more specific. This button is Post Revolutionary War, so I'd assume it's Pre Civil War. Poking around the Internet, I found one in great shape for $55.00.

Do I know this park? :)

If it's the one I'm thinking about, I did find an IH penny there, as well as a LC. I know there's lots of goodies, but they're DEEP, and widely scattered.
