Went to a new spot this afternoon

There is an indoor public pool in town that sits in a small park. I've been eyeing the grassy area next to what used to be the kiddy pool for weeks and putting it off. Decided to give it a try tonight. In about two hours Is dug up 4 quarters, 4 dimes, 1 nickel and 58 pennys. I didn['t do a quarter of this one little grassy area but my knees gave out on me from all the kneeling. I suppose I'll go back tomorrow. Cant leave all that metal in the ground. Bad for the grass you know. It's all clad, nothing special, you've all seen them before so no pics..Oh wait...there was one wheatie in that bunch. a1956D. Like I said, nohing too special.

Sounds like a great spot to hunt MrGee!! Your right, all that metal in there has to come out! Would like to hear a grand total when your done with the area.

Yeah silver here is almost impossible to find and wheats are extremely scarce. Course I'm responsible for some of the shortage. Should dig some out of my stash and throw it around in a park and hunt it. HAA.

Problem with this spot is that I get off work around 2 in the afternoon and this place is directly across the street from the middle school. At about 3:15 about 50 busses start to arrive, cars line the street on both sides and then the enormous herds of kids start swarming the area. It just gets too busy for about 30 to 45 minutes to work. Maybe I'll have better luck over the weekend, although rain is in the forecast for Saturday. We'll see. And I know what you are saying about wheats,Uncle Willy. I've found just under 1500 pennys this summer and 28 of them have been wheats. Not a very good percentage..

Oh, did I mention that it's next door to the field where the football team practices?

MrGee

With the scarcity of wheats in my neck of the woods I would love that percentage. Sure beats zero for the year so far here and I've probably found near that amount this year as this year has been over abundant for pennies. Don't know why pennies have increased and quarters have decreased. You can't buy anything with them.
