Went to a new site yesterday....

I got out yesterday for a few hours. A great guy from church owns 200 acres here in NC and said I could detect it anytime. He also mentioned that the land was his uncles and that there was, "An old house where he raised 11 children... built in the early 1900's, it was located to the right of my RV." So, after driving a mile on a dirt road out into the middle of nowhere I was able to find where the house posts were located. Found tons of yard junk but no coins. Upon leaving I was half-way to the main road and I saw a small trash pile a little ways in the woods. (The only reason I saw this is because I was doing 3 miles an hour and had nothing better to do than to scan the area.) I got out and saw a bunch of broken bottles on the ground, but one wasn't which I was pretty happy about. A 1963 Pepsi bottle and in pretty good shape for being 50 years old this year! It was the perfect ending to a beautiful afternoon out in the country.

I hope all of you have a very safe and Happy New Year, God Bless!!!

Greg

Congratulations on the neat find. It sounds like the property you hunted deserves closer inspection. Who knows ... over time you may find a lot more than a Pepi bottle? Happy New Year Sarg.

Nice pictures. I have a couple of bottles just like that .

Sarge, this could really be a promising site. If you have the time to hit this now and then. I love finding these old homesteads.
