Been away a while, How's everyone doing. went hunting recently at a site that had several skirmishes at a railroad bridge, The bridge was burned down 3 times and on the final time The Union captured a Train and ran it into the river. The bridge was rebuilt and is still in use today. I had read that the Confederates were on the high ground with cannons to repel the yankees and found the highest ground in the area. I got permission to hunt this area and spent a saturday doing my best impression of a billygoat (man that hill was steep). We butterflyed the area hoping to find the camp site, the lower valley has been hunted to death so we figured the top was the best place. We never found the camp but while looking I came across this,[attachment 28656 japbayonet004.JPG]
my first bayonet.
A Japanese bayonet from WW2,[attachment 28657 japbayonet001.JPG]
I bet some kid got a whoopin for losing his Dads souvineer from the war.

It was still in the sheath and in remarkable shape. I have traced it by the markings on the blade to around 1941,

made by and electric company took over by the Japan government to produce bayonets for their War effort. Just my luck to find this from half way acroos the world on a Civil war site in East Tennessee. Enough rambling for now, Hope all y'all are well...Jim
