for a couple of hours. Ran All Metal with the Sensitivity to 95. No problem whatsoever with the machine chirping.ID was only fooled one time by an axle washer off of a wagon at about a foot deep. Dug the end of a Burnside cartridge at about 10 inches. Interesting that I got a number of pistol balls, too. I don't really know if the Discriminate Mode would have got them. IMHO, the F-75 hunts deeper in AM that the Coinstrike does. I think that this will make an excellent relic machine.BTW, I like the ability to change the audio freq. on the AM since I am hard of hearing...instead of running up in the + numbers, I ran -6 and I could hear the machine a lot better.
When I go back back hunting in a day or so, I am going to try Disc.Mode and set the disc to zero and single tone of 2 tone. That will be determined by which is more accurate, the visual ID or the tone ID...Too, if the F-75 is like most other machines, less disc. means more depth. Best to all, RichardnTn

I can see myself running all metal 90% of the time for the type of sites I do.....
It's real nice smooth audio...unlike the C$ you mentioned.

At SOME point, I may ratchet up the nerve to try something like this, but for now I can only see it leading to sensory overload (on the operators part, not the machine). The F75 is SOOOOOOO QUICK in it's response that it'd be a cacophony!

can do it, you can...honestly, it sounds a lot worse than it really is. Very quickly your mind starts to tune out the iron and "jumps" on the good audio...try it..keep your nitro-glycerin pills close by though....Best to you and God Bless, RichardnTn

You're older than DIRT???? (jk).
I'm getting out all day tomorrow with the F75 at a site that I have scoped out all winter. 1850's timber camp with a school AND a post office. Waaaay out in the hinterlands.
I'll report back.
Thanks,
Larry (Tagamet)
PS Sent you a PM.

a site like that. We have some good areas to hunt but people here in the mountains were so poor they couldn't "pay attention." Hope you do well..get the camera out...Be careful...Richard

Yep, it holds a lot of potential. I already got permission from the landowner. His "hunting cabin" used to be the post office. He has old tintype pictures on the wall that he was anxious to show me. TOTALLY infested with rattlers - even on his lawn, but it's still cool up here and my Dear One got me snake chaps for my birthday (good woman that one).
Camera is charged and packed. Life is often really good. (and I'm guessing it beats the alternative)
Film at 11.

Was reading the posts on this, so I decided I had a place that I know targets are far a few so a good place to try this out. In 0 disc and sensitivity at 80 and bottle cap mode and it ran nice and there wasn't a lot of signals with most being low pitched. Got a higher pitched one that seem to bounce around a bit that was a rusty bottle cap. Being not much signals I decided to try the all metal motion mode and was getting more signals doing this with the ID as iron. switched back to disc to check a few on the tones and they were low tones. Got some pieces of rusty tin cans that sounded real loud, but not a good lock on. These were down in the 5-6 inch range. Then I got a weaker signal with no ID being so deep, this was a 22 caliber shell at 7 inches deep. I will say you do need a good pin pointer to find these small target and find my Uniprobe does well. Dug several more 22 shells and then some lead too that were from 6-8 inches deep with a ID around 28-33.

What really shocked me was one signal I got what sounded like 2 targets as I got 2 signals if you listened good, but no real ID number, in pinpoint I could hear 2 different ones if you come at them just right. What I found was a stick pin about 2 inches long and down around 5 inches deep, the other target was 2 stick pins about 2-3 inches to one side of the first one. The F75 seen both of them as it responded so fast plus at a real decent depth too for such a small target which was very shocking for me to see. Picked up several pieces of very small wire to, so it was good I had the Uniprobe in order to find them. Pinpointing was right on every time but once too where it was off about 2 inches as i dug a hole and most every time it was right in the very center of the hole.

I was only there for a hour and being it wasn't so trashy I was able to run the all metal and will say this is a very sensitive detector and will see the smallest targets and deep too, so for relic hunting I think we are going to see posts of some great finds from many of these areas worked over for years by others. I want to try 0 disc and all metal at some of the worked to death parks around here to see what I can do, maybe it will be too noisy and will have to up the disc.

This site i was told was used for picnics along the river years ago and now a pasture, so i had to dodge a few cow pies. I have been there with other detectors, but this is the first time I found anything to indicate there was some activity.

I want to get more time on this detector plus try to get out with one of my buddies with the Explorer before I say it is better or worst for coin hunting as i am still in the learning stage yet. Need to try more things and get out more, but all metal and 0 disc impress me.

Rick
