Here are todays finds, other then the flour gold. Finding bones & petrified wood are usually eye-balled as I am feeding my gold producing highbanker. After about 3 hours of digging, I packed up my equipment and detected the gravel for a short while. Finding a ring while digging for gold just doesn't happen too often......but it did today. Ring # 10. I also dug up these metaling pieces shown above. When metal detecting in river gravel, you have to dig all targets with a mixed high tone. The hot rocks, black sands and multiple iron targets mask and or change the conductivity of targets.
Here's a better photo of the ring. Not a gold ring, however a ring is a ring is a ring.
Here's one of the highbankers that I like to use. Nice and light and it really hangs on to the flour gold. I run it with a 2000 gallons per hour bilge pump, and a lithium ion 12 volt batter.
I actually did well today gold wise. I am guessing about half a gram of gold.
