I am up in MI for work and went to this park to try the 250.The first hour found three cents. Went over to an area away from people; they were starting to show up. Hey Tom:

I think you might have done exactly the right thing by heading for the woods. Most clad hunters don't usually venture in to wooded areas.

I tried this myself today for the first time, and though I didn't find any old coins, I did come up with an old Cold Chisel, which is a relic, I guess. Also found lots of .22 shell casings and beaver tail pull tabs. Beaver tails mean other old stuff is in the woods, so that's where I'm heading next time.

Good Luck:cool:

Yah sometimes it looks like a place was hit hard but there is still stuff there. Just have to think of areas that were missed. I bet the wooded area still has a lot of goodies.

Did very well, its always nice to get them rings !

Cheers!
