& what looks to be a brass ball of some sort kind of like a large ball bearing.BUT, I found one of my first today, a Small meteorite. It was about 4" deep & hit at high tone, and meter ready high coin.

I found three newer nickels, all three hit at mid-tone with an occassional high tone bounce and meter showed round pulltab. Deepest was about 6" and was very cruddy. I also dug a little clad.

Finding a meteorite is a real rarity here in Florida, I couldn't believe it. I checked it with my CZ5 & CZ70, and both showed it as zinc penny & occassional hich coin bounce. Its about the size of a quarter or so and is very heavy, this was one indication that I knew it might be something special.

Hey Mike, BIG TIME CONGRATULATIONS!!! Meteorites are more valuable than G-O-L-D!! If you really want to confirm if it is a meteorite, take a file down one end, and look at it. It should be real shiney, like a new piece of steel. If it is genuine, then it should be worth some serious money, especially that you found it in Florida, and you just paid for you CZ3D, and probably your CZ-70Pro. Anyway I hope its genuine!! HH

Hey Mike, That's SIMPLY OUTSTANDING!! There's a guy out in I think Arizona, that was on the WORLD'S LOST TREASURES SHOW on the Travel Channel. He is a big time collector of meteorites, and travels around the world purchasing meteorites. He also flys one of those Hydras around the Arizona Desert in search of that famous meteor, that crashed there, and created that famous crater. I can't remember his name, but possibly he might be interested in buying your meteorite, that is if you are interested in selling it. If my memory is right, I think he has a webpage on meteorites, and possibly someone might have copied that Travel Channel Episode, and give you his name. If you don't have any luck, let me know, and I will ask around to one of my club members, who occasionally tapes some of those programs. Best of luck in whatever you decide.hh,

First of all congragulations. Many things in the ground mimic a meteorite...but this one needs some investigation...I would think if you have a major college in your area the professor who teaches this subject could be a big help...Don't have a prayer how they would test it...good luck as indeed they are worth some bucks...
