Went out today with the Cibola

It's been 3 months since my back injury and decided today to go out coinshooting. Wore my back support and took my time getting up and down.............2 hours and 45 minutes worth.......

Took my mod'd Cibola with the added Ground Balance control. Was really easy to get it to ground balance in our Georgia red clay soil.
There were a bunch of hot rocks, tuned them so they just broke up the audio. And was able to switch to all metal and check them. When checked in all metal mode the hot rocks would null out. The Cibola worked excellent with the 5.75 coil, easily separate the coins from the trash next to them. The Cibola was tuned so you could hear clicks and pops similar to the Tejon. I like the way it turned out.

The ground was a little softer today, since it rained for two days. Some spots still hard.

I found a handful of coins, didn't think there would be to much lost at this school, it's only a few years old.
As you can see, the Cibola is pretty sensitive to small pcs. of silver, check out the small cross.

Anyways, when I got home popped a Naproxen as a safety measure for my back. We'll see how it feels on Monday.

Glad you felt well enough to get some detecting in. I hope your back feels better soon. Just try to take it easy and don't over-do it. Happy Hunting , Craig

Nice hunt Sven,

Glad you could get out and swing for a while.

I had a Cibola. Liked it a lot.

I got a V so I could have GB.

That's an interesting mod.

Thanks for sharing,

Tabdog

Congrats on the hunt! I would say you did real good. Take care of that back and don't over do yourself, Beale.

Went out again Sunday for another 3 hours to the same elementary school yard.
Tried the soccer field. Nothing more than 3".
Found a bunch of quarters, some dimes, nickles, pennies, some junk jewelry, pull tabs, small pcs. of foil and spikes off soccer shoes.
Oh and a small diecast car.
Nothing of real value like a nice silver or gold ring.

Tot lots are fruitless, no wood chips. The whole tot lot is covered in a roofing like material. Feel sorry for the kids who scrape their body parts on it. ouch.

The Cibola can sure find small items.
Looks like I paid for my gas to and from the hunt site.
