I went to a local lake for about an hour and found three pennies (only two with detector) and a ton of pulltabs. Started getting hot so I decided to head towards the house. Stopped by a local school on the way for a short bit and found another penny sitting on top of the ground.
The ground is extremely hard as it's been well over a hundred degrees most of the week here. When I dig the dirt basically crumbles in my hand. There's no digging plugs. Guess I'll stick to the sandy and wood chips areas of parks and schools.
One question though.
My ACE 250 kept jumping around from foil/5cent,pulltab/penny most of the time. Most everything I pulled up when it was doing this was pulltabs and other various metal objects. Do you guys dig the target if it jumps around like this or leave it alone? There was numerous times I'd get a quick audible tone for a quick second and then couldn't find it again and then it would come back and then be gone just as quick. Is this trash as well?
I'm having some problems pinpointing but I'm guessing that's just something I'll have to deal with until I get use to the machine.
Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks & HH,
Joseph
