went out for a night hunt yesterday. what are these things,,and why..??

that was a small one some of them where like 10 inches

i must of seen 50 of these in 2 hours down in the low tide and the top of the tide line

like skinny fishes coming out of the water just relaxing on the sand.. first time seeing these and i do a lot of night hunts

In New England we'd call them "sand eels". We use them for fishing bait.

They are out on the wet sand because that is where the things that eat em, aren't...
