Love warm weather but yesterday i don't know what happen had to go in early.Everything i dug was over 4inches deep down to 9 inches. Two wheat pennies were in a place that is old everyone test there equipment and coils there to try and find something.A schoolyard, you will find clad coin from the kids but something old is hard. The soil is part iron coal stone clay sand. The first wheat was under nickel from the 60s 4 inches down, signal was 18-20 72-75-78.So i dug up nickel and ran coil over hole ,in relic mode slight high tone 7inches down 77-78,lot of iron i start to dig and dig hard ground and after handfuls of dirt there it is a wheat penny i couldn't believe it from 40s so i walk around some more and same soft signal iron flash +77+79 then iron but here hi tone in relic real soft, circle area going through different modes coin mode prospecting mode and back to relic, start to dig and dig down about 8 inches wheat from 50s, moved on to another site.I will go back and just hunt that school again when i have more time wanted to do a few sites.Went to three sites yesterday last site about 300 clock had to give up two of coin though not wheat from 60s were down 8 to 9 inches. I didn't want to dig any coins on surface wanted to check depth.Like i said love hate affair with coil sometimes so quite you think its not on and sometimes near trash it get noisy and i have to move disc. way up just so i can try and pull some coins, but then it will turn around and surprise you and find items that you couldn't find with your other coils and it makes the whole day .Well i hope to get out some more, depressing to watch news they are showing people with snow and showing areas that are getting snow and showing maps of it moving this way.Go away.

Great job Fred, I like to hunt in the relic mode also, nice bunch of change.:clapping:

Some nice finds Fred and great nature shots..............The second best thing to being there.

Good hunt Fred. I like my new coil better everytime I use it.I like to hunt in Relic mode no discriminatiion and trigger forward.

When you use the 10''dd how much depth do you get.Do you work this coil slow.To Nancy did you try the coil again and did you find anything ?Is this coil noisy when you come to close to multiple targets.?Larry what method do use to pinpoint it?I started to go center to heel and when sound stops back it up inches. Thanks

I love the pics. Thanks Fred. I used the coil Saturday and loved it. I pinpoint in the center and I've not noticed much noise at all when around multiple targets. Might be ground conditions also. HH to all, Nancy

I use the centering method Fred and I have the SunRay pinpointer to help, but the target is pretty close to the center of the coil. I never did use the toe or heal method much. My results on depth is about the same as Rob, a couple of inches better than the 6X10. I work the coil fast and slow depending on how I am working an area. A new yard, I work it pretty fast and try to get the shallow good targets before Nancy gets them, and then the more I work a site, the slower I hunt listening for the deeper signals. Some yards are a one time opportunity and I try to cover as much of the yard as I can, letting the deeper targets go.
