Went up North to Door Co. Wisconsin last weekend to check up on the Mother-in-laws house and get a little hunting in.The first pic shows the closest town on the Green Bay side of the pennisula which is frozen a couple of miles out so I didn't do any lake hunting .

This is actually a gallon jug that a cedar tree decided it couldn't live without :lol:the glass is intact and has been there for the last 14 years that I know of and is in the woods right behind the house.

The next 2 pics are of an old road close to the house that is on the 1914 plat but gone on the 1939 so I wandered out in the woods for a couple of hours and found what I think might be a fired small caliber musketball. Also found whats left of a pair of future pilot wings, just never know what you'll find sometimes. Did dig a bunch of old shotgun and rifle shells but didn't take a pic.

Finally got to hunt around this old foundation that I could only get to now since the grass and weeds grow too high in the summer. This is where I found the cool toy gun and the 1923 dog tag. Found some other pieces of toys but no coins and alot of junk. The dog tag is probably quite rare since there wasn't much of a population in the county back then.Pulled the 1920 merc from an old homesite that I had to hike about a mile to get to but counted myself lucky to even find that.
Good Hunting

<center> well keith seems depression era home you wont find much lost
they just did not have it to lose to start.
Great place tho and good finds too
I love the woods and the finding of things long lost forgotten and hidden by time :D
You may just want to spread out in the area some away from the hole and along the roadway to the sides tho

Think this might be the derringer, nice find. You can check it out at http://www.nicholscapguns.com/mattel.htm if the pick isn't very good. It was also made where it popped out of a buckle.

I saw that toy gun and did a double take.

I found the same one here in MA about 4 days ago.

And when I say the same, I mean IDENTICAL. Same size and shape, same rivet placement, same design pattern, down to the last detail. Seems to be a 1920's or 1930's vintage thing. Most of the wheats I've been pulling from the same site have been 1915-1930. I'll post a photo later if I get a chance.
