.Stoped by my favorite park last week and ran into a couple of hunters at the park. The one guy told me he found a couple seated dimes.Took the Sovereign and was rained out After a two hour hunt a 1909 and 1924 wheat pennies a 1925 Buffalo nickle and a small silver ring.Going back later to continue the hunt after lunch.

Tabdog, didn't find that silver.Found six more wheat pennies including another 1909,1914,1920 and two 1941 nickles.Found an old marble holder says Gladstone Mich USA Pat'D 1900 I was hoping it was filled with old dimes.

Hay Ron,

I found one of those things.

Mine doesn't have any writing on it.

It is brass under chrom platting.

The platting was flaking and I rubbed it with steel wool.

HH,

hi ron! it's good to see you out hunting again. hope things are well at gm. pop just bought a new silverado. it's nice! congrats on the finds...they are good ones. hh,

Grey Ghost,it nice to have customer's buying our product. The Silverado is a nice truck.General Motors has too many plants building this pickup truck.I'm one of the 19,000 retiring at the end of June.We start running production again tomorrow probably to run the material out so they can start the 2009s or close the plant.I hired in 1972 did have a military and education leave.I would have liked to stay longer but with gas at 4.00 a gallon and rising pickups won't sell like they use to.Time to leave the Corp.By the way I worked in the logistics part. Thanks

Tabdog on the cap there maybe some writing.I found one on Ebay with six hours to go at a bid of 21.00 .I think the one I found is just like the one you have. The brass looks better than the chrome plate. Thanks

Terri, I thought it was a marble holder, but after a little research it turns out to be a match holder.

Terri Thanks the horse farm will keep things busy.I really wasn't planning on retiring for another 6 years I'll be 55 this August.I'm am looking forward to retirement and know I'll have to watch my spending and learn how to relax.

Hey Ron , You'll do fine, The way things are looking we are all gonna be needing a horse soon .
And they are for me atleast a great joy,Id rather spend time with a horse than most people I know

Terri,a couple of years ago I could buy hay for $2.00 a bale my supplier ran late I got a few bales at the feed and grain store at $8.00 bale.Grain M12 the cheapest use to be $5.00 now $9.00 Premium feed $12.95 now $19.00. Thanks

WOW, Ron I knew the prices had risen, but I didnt realize they were that bad. When my Dad retired
a few years ago he started raising cattle full time and the last he sold ,he only got like 80 cents a lb.
But it was cheaper than feeding them thru the winter. And he grows and bales his own hay .
