Went digging for about an hour need some help

The help i need is on the Otis Clapp bottle, All the others i've seen say Malt and Cod this one says Malt ext. and or Cod as seen in the pic any help would be appretiated
 
those bottles are very very clean... must have been found in top soil or under water....... EXT- i believe stands for extract.... so label reads malt and extract of cod.... ummm yum yum...lol.
 
Nice finds. The industrial revolution destroyed the craftsmanship of bottles such as these. Pity.
 
Kovels puts out a book on bottles every year or two, they also have a web site. You might find the answer you're looking for there. Hope this helps.
