WENT BEACH HUNTING

went beach hunting today with the mxt ,i was very dissappointed with the results ,i found nothing but 1 bottlecap .the sand was wet hard sand and there were no signals. Is there special settings for the best results. thanks jim

Was the beach really sanded in? If so you are not going to get any signals.

well the beach was packed pretty hard with wet sand, a lot people on the beach too. This beach is 7 miles long ,but there is no dry sand on it after high tide. tThat might be the causeof the problem. Iwas using a 4x6 coil at the time.

Do you think the 4x6 loop might have been the problem on a 7 mile beach? I would think 6 inches at a time would be pretty slow going. My all time favorite loops for beach hunting is the Bigfoot. Good targets are usually far and few to start with and coverage would be #1 on my list of priorities.

just another dumb post i guess, the machine was pretty stable in the salt mode ,i think you're right ,you cant expext much with a tiny coil slowly learning the machine , it is pretty cool in dirt .thanks for the replies jim
