Went back to the same park I hit yesterday but I must have cleaned it out...

as I only found slightly over a buck. Made the mistake of dragging my 1500 out and swinging it for awhile. Forgot how heavy that puppy is ( especially with the PROformance coil attached ) and it was like swinging a piece of lead in my still puny condition. My back between my shoulder blades hurts like hell and feels like I've been stabbed with a pitch fork. If I take it out again I'm going to put the Scorcher coil back on it.

With all the space age materials available today don't know why Garrett can't make all their machines light ( 2 to 2.5 pounds ) like Tesoro does and like the 250, especially for us old farts and people with disabilities and physical limitations. They don't need to be built like a tank and weigh as much. As long as most of them have been on the market their design and composition concept is a little long in the tooth, IMHO. Designing lighter models would most likely boost sales. Look how the 250 took off and is still selling like a house afire. I think Garrett is long overdue for some new designs.

I agree. Not sure why the GTIs are made so heavy but Ive seen them get some bad reviews only because of the weight factor, I never thought about it until I received mine. Ive been diagnosed w/ degenerative joint disease which so far has only affected my right elbow and left thumb which dont bend all the way like they used to. I only use the gti now as my 71 year old dad took over my other detector to give it a try.As long as the pains not stopping me in my tracks Ill keep swinging and not go down without a fight. I got use to the weight since this is the only machine I swing, I could tell it would be hard to switch back and forth. Im waiting on a 4.5 inch imaging coil or even an larger oval that images.

I would bet Treasurefriends 2008 clad total that it's not cleaned out. Probably just had an off day. :)

Bill, Get you one of Doc's Swingy Thingy"s. I like mine even though I don't like to be tied to my detector, it sure helps an old $art like me.

What's the swingy thingy?

The pitchfork part sounds like my back. 2 week vacation and no MDing yet:cry:
