Went back to the old stage depot.....

I waited till it warmed up to 33 degrees, the high today was 35. It was a little breezy on the hill top, but the sun felt warm. The site is a mile off the road on private land, and I can drive to it in my truck.

This is this first of 16 flat buttons I found today.

A typical old time plow point; I've found about a dozen of these since I've been in Virginia. I used to stick them in my detecting poutch to dispose of later, but they'll about pull your pants off. So if there's woods nearby, that's where I chuck them.

Not sure what this is, but its kind of cool. At first I thought it was a big ring, but I don't think so.

Another flat button. Now don't get me wrong, I like flat buttons, but I was hoping for another coin today.

Today's digs: 16 flat buttons, a fired 3 ring bullet, a spoon or fork handle, and the cool looking thingamajig.

know this but there is a coin or two there, best part is your finding cool old buttons and other stuff while looking for those older coins. Who knows what you will dig up next, I believe your gonna find a whooper of a find, be it coin or relic, a big time whooper Vern, good luck bud, after all your years in Alaska I am happy for you that you are digging some great old stuff
