Went back to the mosquito infested woods and exited the woods standing.

I went back to the old trail that I noticed on a 1934 aerial map. Click here for first trip Skeeters were beating on me trying to steal my silver again :ROFLMAO: It was hot and humidity was through the roof. I knew I needed to get in a hunt today as Hurricane Henri is coming to knock on my door Sunday and Monday. I am glad I went. Signal was a smooth, sweet high tone with a TID of 30. Needless to say, I was very happy to see the SLQ !! The poor mercury dime though has seen better days. Any reason why this would happen to silver? Thanks for looking.

That condition of that dime is a mystery Jim.
Hopefully someone can give you an answer as to how it got like that.
Still a great find though along with that quarter.
Thanks Felix!

You need to wait until the weeds die off!
A potted coin might be the result of being under a pine or other tree that has an acid to it.
Nice finds but wait for frost or cold so the mosquitoes are not after you.

Looks like it may have been exposed to high heat.

Nice finds Jim I've found a lot of silver coins in that same shape as the mercury..

I heard somewhere that mosquitoes Do not like Irish spring soap. I’m going to try rubbing some on me and see if they bite still
