Had on the waders and detector and scoop in hands people looked but didn't say anything. I noticed they took down the swimming area ropes.
If anyone was going to say anything I had an answer if they said No swimming.
I was going to say "If I were standing in the water with waders on and a fishing pole in hand would you say I was swimming or fishing? Let them think on that one for a moment. Since I don't have a fishing pole in hand but instead a metal detector then I'd have to say I am metal detecting - wouldn't you agree?
All prepared and no one said anything. They watched from a distance.
Still making modifications to the scoop - added a magnet and got some gutter screen material to try to keep things from falling through the holes. Both worked well. Magnet picked up the fishing hooks and lures (jigs). The screen made sure things didn't go through - it worked too well - very little went through including stones, pebbles, rocks, sand. It was too good - maybe larger holes??
Anyway here is todays water finds with the Fisher 1280x.

I did strike gold - well sorta. There is a gold rope chain bracelet I got
(to the right of the pennies and the one dime. A look through the loupe shows:
14K Gold Plated

Was surprised to find that padlock in the water. Did find a gold colored ear ring and yuck I think the other is a nose ring. Finding the fishing hooks and the fishing jigs in the swimming area made me glad I wore foot protection.
To the far right is a bracelet the only metal is 3 little beads. Looks like one of those 'dream catchers'. Casey said it is an ankle bracelet. She's the girl and probably knows more about it than me.
Well that is all. Hope others got out to detect today. At the price of gas my detecting may have to be combined with trips elsewhere. Just can't afford to make a trip just to go detecting any more.
