Went back to pull some more weeds and put the 6" on

Guess what I got... Nothin, zip, zero, zilch nodda. I figured there had to be more coins there amongst all the iron and weeds. I hunted it up, down and side to side with that 6" but nothing else popped up. I must say that it is nice when trying to manuver around weeds stubs and stuff. Just wish I felt the need to use it more I guess.

I'm getting ready to leave for my sister's early Friday morning for 5 days of detecting. There are 2 very old church I've been eyeing, one is 1850s, the other 1815. I managed to contact the secretary at the 1850s church, by e-mail yesterday. She was very open and interested. She's checking with the Trustees and either she or one of them are supposed to be back in touch with me. I'll be surprised and very pleased if I get a "yes".

I did that a couple of years ago Brandon, 1850's house - cut the long grass, pulled out sumac, picked up fallen limbs, and found... Nothing!

Yeah I have found sometimes a place you just know will be loaded is not and the ones you think this will suck will surprise you. I just did a 1940's house with bootyhunter1971 and it was like well this will suck but at least we are hunting. Found 3 silvers in front yard just never know.

Haha! Yeah. I usually have a one outta ten house ratio. One outta every ten is decent. Nothin but a handful of wheats yesterday and I had permission on two 1890's houses. Must have been landscaped :/

Bought a CTX, mowed down the tall grass and what did I get:
3 aluminum tubes used in rain gutters to hold the long nails
lots of foil from foam board insulation and
A nasty case of poison ivy all over my right hand. Guess I should not have mowed so low.

Decided to try the beach.
Drove 45 minutes, bought subs and sodas, had money in hand to pay $5/head for wife and I
to get into the beach/park. Out of the blue I asked if metal detecting was allowed??
Only from 6am to 9am, it was noon. At least there was a great cigar shop on the route home.

Lessons learned:
Wear gloves,
wrap search coil in plastic bag when brought into house or transported.
and call ahead if possible.
