Arose At 430am monday morning and headed to an East Texas lake that had dam damage from the recent hurricanes in our area. The Excal had come back from Las Vegas on friday morning and I was anxious to take it for a test drive. The lake level has been dropped by around 6', so the swimming areas are well within reach. Inspired by a recent trip that I had taken there 2 weeks ago and Mrchile's AWESOME lake finds and the fact that he passed a little mojo my way, I was feeling that silver and gold were soon to be in my scoop. Got in the water around 8 am where I tied off the brig and began to scan the immediate area. It was like homeboy just spilled his tackle box cuz there was lead sinkers EVERYWHERE! Had just about enough of that mess, so I worked my way back to where I had done so well 2 weeks ago. Was more methodical in my search, working from the bank out to chest deep water and back and then moving over a few feet and overlapping as best as possible. This worked quite well as seen. Some of these targets have not seen the light of day in a long time. Found some real knarley stuff as ya'll can see. Hope ya'll can make out the pics ok. I did not count targets, but there's a whole bunch and maybe only a couple of them were 2 targets in the bucket. Total clad take was $9.05(1 wheaty 1951D and 1 Canada cent 1960 included in total take). 1 unmarked earring, 2 silver rings and 10k senior girls class ring 1978. She's older than me! Lakes have got a ton of junk in 'em, but there's some loot in the midst of the junk. Quit at 6pm and I was tired.
