Well, Vicky and I hit the beach tonight! :cam:

We had a real nice night at the beach... absolutely perfect weather. Happened to be high tide, so we worked the dry sand. No gold, but we both managed some clad. Vicky was very happy to have found enough to buy a cup of coffee tomorrow Looks like there's another MD'r in the house now!

I did that in about 5 minutes Have to say her technique looked a lot better than some of the guys I saw out there


Yep there sure is a lot of beach... I think it's something like 7 miles of it. That upper sand is pretty well littered with a lot of trash. Plenty of pull tabs and foil. It's the only time I use a coin / jewelry pattern I made up. Discs out most common pull tabs but still reads foil, gold and nickels (got another half dozen last night so it must be working right)

Not too much in the way of crowds yet as the weather hasn't been all that hot except for a couple of days last week. Still, it's much hotter inland than at the beach where temps are a lot cooler with the ocean breeze.

Water temps are still in the low 60's I think, so that cuts down on the amount of people going in the water. Even so, I've heard tell of some nice gold being found at low tide. Been trying to time getting there for the low but that hasn't worked out just yet. Next weekend should be good.
