when I saw the box, I said wait a minute, what happened to the rest of it. But once I got it in the house, I checked and it was all there. Putting it together was rather easy. I was surprised at the airtest that I did. It was hitting on coins 10-12 inches away from the coil with no problem.

Took it out for a short hunt this evening for an hour to a local park that has been hit pretty steady and found about $2.50 in battery money. Nothing to write home about, but some things I noticed were that if the 70 locked on 12, it was a nickel, if it locked on 36, it was a dime, if it locked on 30, it was a zinc, and 42 it was a quarter. I got to where I was calling them before diggin within minutes.

I did the Auto GB and ran sesitivity at 20 and I pulled a couple of dimes as deep as 8". But nothing deeper then that. From what I'm being able to tell with what little time I have on it is the depth would be comparable to the CZ5 & 3d. But that is just an assumption right now more then a fact. Because every target the XT70 hit on the CZ5 hit on and vise-versa.

Now, the weight of the XT70 should be the main reason for purchasing the detector, because it's definately light compared to swingin the Quattro.

It should be able to run full bore on sensitivity because our soil here isn't very mineralized in most areas except if you get around the mucky areas around lakes and such.

After playing with my X-70 last week end, I learned that 20 is not enough for deep coins, this is in our soil.HH...BJ

What's the X-70's max audible depth to quarter and dime on air out there while is the X-70 set to max sensitivity? Thanks.

The clad half was buried at 9" last year and the grass was about 1 1/2" high and the stock 9"(7.5freq.) coil was about 1" off the grass. The Sens was at 30,Vol was 30,Threshold was 12,Mode was AM,Ground bal. was auto,Track was off, and no headphones were used. The numbers were a little jumpy, 44,42. When the Sens was lowered to 27,the number was 42 with Target stability on. When the Sens was lowered to 20, the coil had to be swung faster to get a sound, and the numbers were real jumpy, this was nothing that I would have dug.The X-70 did better on all the coin's in this test spot than my Explorer ll and Sovereign XS and GT when I had them. This area was dry. The other coin's are listed below...HH..BJ
