Well, that was anticlimactic!

Totally anticlimactic.....i was detecting around a foundation of an old corn crib. I had the discrimination knob on my compadre up a bit around the foil setting....and i got a beep. It was not a very clean beep, but i decided to dig out the trash, just to be rid of it.....so i start digging.....nothing.....

So I dig a little more....nothing.

Dig some more...still nothing!!!!!!

By now i'm at about a foot deep and the signal is getting much cleaner.....

After about 1.5 ft I FINALLY find the metal.....some old steel cable! How thrilling! Lol

How the heck did my basic little MD, that only supposedly detects 7-8 inches deep, detect something 14-18 inches deep? Kinda impressive. I will have to dig the cable up someday soon because it was a big tangle and it was getting too dark.

7-8 inches is for a coin sized object. A Nash or Edsel down there you should get 3-4 feet.....

Perfect! I'm partial to old jeeps, hope i find one of those buried ;)

When I get a deep signal like that, I blame it on the old Studebaker that's buried deep down there. :detecting: HH, Nancy
