Well T2 guys, how does it feel to know

Do you loose depth if the volume is turned down?? I have a T2 only been able to use it a few times due to the snow in the UK. I find it very noisy at times on some of my ancient sites.

Youngted,
Leave the volume alone Dude. On busy sites drop Sensitivity to 70 Tone to DP and disc to 5-10. DP has a very loud silver sound, trust the T2 dig all the high sharp sudden sounds even if there is an Iron grunt with it, contaminated mineralized ground tends to add an Iron grunt to small hammered silver coins but DP will not lie to you.
Have a good Hunt

Silverman 777 thanks for that tip, I have not used my LTD in DP mode yet.
When you say lisen for the sharp sudden sounds I take it that you're also looking for high numbers such as in the 70s & 80s on the meter to break through ? that would indicate high conductivity for such coins.
I will test this setting on a very barren field for finds, that is situated next to an old 14th century Church and see what results I get.
I have never found a hammered coin here, the oldest coin recovered was a 1696 William 111 Sixpence and a Georgian silver shoe buckle.
There must be older here, so I'll see if the DP mode gives the desired results Cheers Rick

Rick,
The meter readings can be wrong do not pay to much attention to it, if the silver contend is high the sound is sharper if it's low it is not as sharp! The meter reading change depending on the conductivity. If you are going to hunt a barren site you need to hunt deep, so hunt in Tone 1, disc 80 sens 4. Freq F7
It is the deepest setting of the machine however if you do not find anything like that then use Pinpoint mode, pinpoint will find a dustbin lid at three meters down. So Swing three to four times while holding the trigger and then release it. Pause and then pull and swing, repeat. You will find deep and great targets. Barren ground in the UK is unheard of! The goods are just deeper than you can detect but pinpoint will sort that little problem. Only disadvantage is you will dig a lot of rubbish but hey, put yer back into it LOL
Have a Good hunt

Thanks for the info Silverman I will give them a go. Dont think I will use pinpoint though, as boost mode puts you way down there.
Maybe the Teknetics manual should carry a warning that using this machine, one could end up with arms like Popeye due to all the earth thats shifted from digging extremely DEEP holes.

Moved half a mountain Sunday it feels like for that Roman ring on my Updated review link. Phew, sweating in 4c with an easterly wind blowing. 15 inches at least but it was tightly packed clean pasture! I did give me Terminator 2 a dirty look or two during the process! But when I held the ring in my dirty old paws I was smiling widely!
Have a good hunt

I doubt if I will use the pinpoint mode in that way as my search fields are full of small iron.Out on Sunday though on a grass paddock searched many times with Explore & tesaro found several signals that my companion could not get. The one featured although not that old was DEEP found an Elizabeth 1st 2D as well but its a poor one.
