Well, my new DigiMeter got toasted when my GT got toasted

Now I have to send my DigiMeter in to Minelab so they can send me a new one.
I guess when the board went zipp on the GT it fried the meter too.

I got a new GT from Minelab the other day to replace the bad one (THANK'S MINELAB!!!!!!) but when I put the meter to the new GT I could not get a coin hit on a quarter even at an inch. Nothing, nada, zilch. If I take the meter off, the GT works great . . . so far!

This is rare for me as I have had other Minelab products and never had a problem except my Explorer which had to be sent in a couple times for repair from use.

Eventually, when I get this GT up and running I hope to find some goodies out there!

Tony,

That is a real bad that you are having this kind of a problem with this GT. One thing is look at the pins in the connector from the coil to the meter as maybe one got bent or pushed in so it wont make a connection. I had this happen to my S1 probe where the coil wire connected to the switching box as one pin got pushed in and wouldn't work.
I hope you called Minelab and they have a meter on its way to you.

Hi Rick, I called Minelab and after explaining what was going on they were pretty sure the meter got toasted. I sent the meter in yesterday and they will send another one after they receive that one.

By they way . . .
It was nice talking to you the other day. But you need to do something about that phone. It sounds horrible! It was very hard to understand you.
