I'm not knocking what your saying by no means!! As most everyone knows the explorer doesn't air test well and Minelab and Andy Sabisch will tell yea that also. Plus I have heard from other explorer users that the explorer works allot better in soil that has been undisturbed "meaning hasn't been dug up or tilled for quite some time!!" Like I have said I don't have enough experience behind the handle to start dishing out advice but I know the mercury dime that I just found on the 25th it was right at 8" and the only way I know that is my trowel the scoop part of it is marked out in inches and it was about 2" past the 6" mark!
It was a good repeatable signal and the crosshairs were in the upper right hand corner! I know that sounds like text book but I have no reason to lie to you or anyone else! That's just the way it was. I couldn't dig it fast enough when I heard that sweet tone and seen were the cross hairs were!!! =))))) & sure enough it was a fine silver merc =))) that was a start of a very good and the best week I have ever had with the Explorer!!!!!
I can only attibute that to using the settings and tips from Brian and charles from New York!!! I put those settings in before I went out and and done great ever since!!!!!! I'm sorry to here that your not finding any dimes over 6" maybe it's your soil conditions there and you will just have to play with the explorer and find out what works for you in your area.... Good luck and If you ever need any help just shout and I will try to help you out...
