force myself to the race anyhow. Got this real bad ear ackes, lost voice, blah blah blah... Bottom line, on the mend now so can post some pictures. We did get the track all done just in time. Had Open practice the first day, and made a few changes for the next day.
Had just over 1, spectators thru the front gate and 612 riders on the start line. Good day of racing for sure, perfect weather. Track being new got ripped up pretty easy so half way thru the day, it presented a challenge, at least for the amateurs. The Pro's all grabbed the unused outside line and hammered away. They made a couple of our double jumps and a single into one big triple and needed some serious height to make it.. Down side of that was not a lot of stopping room to make the next corner so serious braking bumps developed all day. Braking bumps come from the guys hard on the brakes and dragging dirt ahead with them then on the throttle again to whip around the corners. Creates a big bump in a bad spot... I'll post a few pictures of each thing. You guys heard enough about it for a week. you might as well see the results.... We start our Sr. Summer Series tonight which is just club members riding hard against each other for trophys, jackets at end of the year. Always a fun Wednesday night....

#1 picture is them doing jump as a double...They are going to land on the back of the jump you see there.....

#2 is the turn right after the jump and back on the throttle...

#3 is 3 different lines to take on the tunnel jump corner, You come over a big jump and into this turn...can carry a lot of speed thru.

#4 this guy is going for it as a triple jump so it up there...and moving....

#5 another guy going for the triple jump....

#6 Here is a triple jumper coming in for a landing...He will land on the back side of that jump to your right...and then quickly need to slow down to make a sharp corner.... This is a favorite spot for spectators. Speed, height, lots of action all in this area...

Some of them travel in some really nice RV and trailers... We ended up filling all our parking lots and our 3 overflow parking lots. That made our day. Not unusual for the first race. After that, you get less people at each event the rest of the year.. We had very few transports this year also to the hospital so that was good for everyone.... The last shot in this shows you how rough the track got even on the straight aways. The outside lane was the choice of the smart riders. Geo

some of those sections are sure gnarly for any that are not well experienced but it is good practice.
I just marvel at the jumps these days, the air they get and survive (mostly  ) I truly loved my days in motocross but did not have the advantage of parents backing me and it was tough paying the bills while competing against kids with rich daddies and no job to go to while i already had a family and was really too old when i started formal serious competition ( age 28 ).
I still like to watch though:thumbup:

I just watched the entire video below and could have sworn a saw a girl starting the second race (at about the six minute mark). Were my eyes deceiving me ? Crap......I'd lose to the girls too

They are pretty good also.... The guys get really ticked when they hand them their a$$ at some of our races. I will get pictures of some of them at our next race. Really surprise when this cute little young lady pops out of the helmet. They look to delicate to do it...
Trust me, a lot of them can really ride well.... They hammer those jumps just like the guys do.... Not to many stick with it though. Guess other interest or the boy friends are intimidated, who knows. My buddy has 3 daughters at our club. All our good riders... Fact I think that is the one you see, Heather is her name....
