My back has been bothering me since about Thursday. Odd, because the last time I detected was Monday. I figured I slept funny one night. I felt like crap yesterday but woke up this morning feeling fine. When 1pm came along I was terribly bored and figured a little hunting would help keep me feeling loose. Off I went. Hunted for 3.75 hours. Felt fine. Was hot and tired, so I quit. During the half hour drive home, my back tightened up like it did a few years ago in December. Took me quite a bit longer than normal to get myself in the house. A nice hot shower helped but and hour later I was in agony. All for this load of junk. No Versace ring. No ring at all. In fact, I've been in a jewelry/gold/silver slump for about two weeks now. The earring was intact until I ran it under water. There's about a two percent chance that it's gold. I'll test it later.

Gonna take it easy until next weekend no matter how I feel.

Back problems stink, I have them  Looks like you have some interesting finds...what are the buckles from? Ditto on the crescent moon item?

Take it easy for a while, and if you know of a good Chiropractor, go get an adjustment. Chiropractor was the ONLY one who's done me any good.

Hope ya get feelin' better!

The buckles are from football pants I think. The crescent should be rotated 90 degrees. Looks like a pin. There's a skull on it that resembles your avatar a bit. I'll try to clean it up someday.

My back has been fine since December 2008. After 175 hunts that summer it locked up after a week of inactivity. A few weeks later I felt fine. I have some pain pills left over from that episode and I just popped half of one. I feel like I could do another 3.75 hours in the field but I know its just masking the pain. A few good nights sleep and I should be right as rain.

Thanks for looking!

Chris

Nice hunt ......It looks like it was Silver Clad day.......whats The half Moon thingey? .......My Back Started to hurt last week , and then 2 hours later it Started to Rain for the 1st Time this season......The 800 MG ibuprofen, Horse pills will fix your Back right up.

That pin needs to be turned 90 degrees. It has a skull on it too. It is pretty corroded right now.

I was after silver coins and didn't even score a wheat. Dry as heck and I was getting decent depth too. I'll take the clad, even though I would have preferred something older.

I almost chucked it in the trash at the park too. Turns out it's pretty cool. Here it is with just a run under the tap with a bit of scrubbing with a toothbrush. Any ideas what it actually is?

Chris

Well, you did find a good amont of clad... Me and the old man haven't been out since the begining of april... now we all live in Ca near my dad's side of the family... gotta find some where to hunt once I have the time. Hasn't rained in just under 3 MONTHS.

Don't you have any pain pills bud? I couldn't get out of bed or the house without Vicodin. Been on that crap for twenty years. You should get some then you can pop a couple and go or keep on detecting the rest of the day. Why suffer all the time? My back injury demands double-strength Vicodin and I go through about 120 every 15 days and I thoroughly detest taking pills of any kind especially something to allows me to operate artificially but I'd be flat on my back without them. If I go without them the incredible pain sets in and I get stiff as a board and can't sit down or bend my body at a 90 degree angle which forces me to stand up all day long, to eat, and going on the pot is a sight to see. The other postion I can occupy is flat on my back but to get up I have to roll off on the floor on all fours and work my way up. Driving my car is out of the question. You should think about it as the older you get the worse it will get. Good luck.

Wish a chiropractor could fix me but there ain't any fix or even surgery. The ligaments and tendons in my right back are completely wrecked and a mass of scar tissue which is like dragging a strand of barb wire back and forth through the soft tissue in my back.

I got 30 7.5 mg Vicodin when I hurt my back two years ago. I have a couple left and only take them when I'm in agony. I hate the stuff. Took half of one tonight and feel much better. Still a dull ache but at least the stabbing pain when I stand up is gone.

Chris

Yeah I don't like them for squat but can't motivate without them. A few weeks ago I took a nasty fall and damned near broke my ribs plus gouged a couple of hunks of meat out of my left arm. The ribs still hurt like hell. In fact they are banging away at me now and I'm hesitating taking a pill and I got Percocet at the Emergency Room for that mind numbing pain.

Not detecting on a Sunday is a new experience for me this year. I plan on starting my new hobby today. Watching TV while lying on a stiff board.

Chris

I've been through that back pain problem a few times myself Chris. UncleWilly could have been talking about me when he described the rolling on the floor technique but even then I had to be very careful and move exactly so or else! Thankfully I haven't been bothered for quite a few years now. What is it they say, a nap used to be a luxury, now it's a necessity. By the way, I found your friend Roger Donlon has his own web page on the URL I gave you in your "bit of a story" post.
