Well, I've been off the forum for a few days, because I got a virus in my computer:cry:

I spent three days trying to get rid of it. It was a browser hijack virus that showed up as a warning about my computer being infected:yikes: When I tried to go online it went to a website called "www.systemwarning.com" It also had the names "SpyAxe" and SpyTrooper" with it. I don't know how or where I picked it up, but it was a tough one to get rid of!!!! I even bought McAfee VirusScan 2006 (I was going to get it anyway, because it was time for an upgrade). I had to get a small program from McAfee's forum that finally got rid of it. What really upset me is the fact that VirusScan 2005 was supposed to have been protecting me!! Ya'll sure were busy while I was gone:thumbup:

I have A.V.G. (Free Version)I quit buying Nortin after using A.V.G.( been 2 and half years now)as I think its Better and I got a virus from SPYAXE--It got rid of the Virus (NO Problem)But to get rid of the Pop Up that kept comming up saying I was Infected, I had to use my SPYWARE programs as It was Spyware that kept making that SpyAxe keep comming up--Your right It is a tough thing to get rid of! I spent a hour fighting it---I have two spyware programs---SpySweeper and Counter Spy--I think those are both very good

Virus software doesn't get rid of it. I have 2 programs running on my computer to try to catch it as it shows up. One was recommended by someone here and it works fairly well.
Free download and it's called Arovax Shield. (do a google search)

IMHO there are 4 things you can do which stops these spywares and viruses.

1. don't use microsoft Internet explorer -- use mozilla
2. In IE turn OFF all active X (even if you arent using IE)
3. use "mailwasher" to screen your e-mail
4. Do NOT let teenagers use your computer.
