My new Olympus 770 SW underwater camera is shot. The store I bought it from is little help, I'll have to see what the manufacturer can do for me tomorrow. One thing is for certain, no Bermuda pics for a while until I get this sorted out.

Cheers,

Have only worked fresh water but, had it submerged hours on end. No room in Pelican box thats were my phone is.
Well now I know what to expect. One thing for sure Pelican works!

We have an older Pentax Optio Wpi 10 that has taken a real beating for 3 years and still works, and a year old Pentax Optio W20 that also takes a beating and works just fine. I have read many negative reports on the Olympus not standing up to what it is made for.

If you remember I am on my third camera, Pentax optio W20 dropped one and the 2nd one had a faulty battery. Both were replaced with no questions asked. This one is about 8 months old and no problems. I carry it in the water with we me at all times. Sometimes here in Fl. when I get out of the Spring water 72 degree and the temp. is 90 degrees the camera will fog up till it warms up. I try to protect it from extreme changes in temp. so this doesn't happen. Good luck Olympus is a good company they should replace it. HH

I like the pics this camera lets me take, the compact size and lightweight but the new one only lasted a month. The 770SW has only been on the market for a year or less so I can't see why they won't honour the warranty with or without a reciept. (still can't find it) If I get the run around then I'm going to be seriously p1ssed off, at which point the 3 times rule comes into effect. Let's hope Olympus does the right thing and stands behind their product.
Sharing the experience is one of the things I really enjoy about metal detecting and pictures are key to that part of the experience. With over $800 invested in cameras for my hobby in the last year and a half, the Princess isn't going to be thrilled if I have to buy another one. It won't stop me from buying another camera but she definitely won't be thrilled. After all, it was my decision to go with another Olympus.

Cheers,

Thanks Max, a Pirate can always count on a Mate like You! I'll check it out if Olympus lets me down, woe to them if they do.

Like everyone else, I really enjoy the pics you post. The finds are great and the water shots are spectacular. Then you get some shots that are unexpected, like the conch shell on the rock with the great background of the red flowers.

After only one month they ought to fix that puppy with no charge, or even better, give you a new one. Good luck and post pics when you can again.
